Sr 3D Modeler

Job Description

  • Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders to set task direction and consistency of work
  • Advance Knowledge of 3D-related mathematics / physics for object oriented languages
  • Advance Knowledge of the game pipeline / optimization.
  • Advance Skills in rigging / skinning, animation (animation controllers) and character animations (stup and deformers), lighting (shading) / rendering or FX
  • Basic knowledge of scripting and object oriented language
  • Carry out the rigging and skinning of the characters with reusability
  • Have a sense of cinematography.
  • Gather research and reference material and present designs and progress in visual and written form
  • Good understanding of best practices, production pipelines and workflows and also ensure proper execution.
  • Create high quality hand painted textures along with normal texturing.
  • Extensive knowledge of the technical requirements of the game (poly counts, naming conventions, texture resolution etc) and adhere to the enforced standards
  • Identify proper mesh topology as well as repair and/or give feedback to the 3D modelers
  • Carry out the rigging and skinning of the characters to meet the needs of project. Implement and incorporate feedback from Game Producer and Leads into work
  • Use game design documents to develop an understanding of the environments, objectives, story and style to create game levels and assets. Make sure that all the juniors understand it in the right way.
  • Integrate the produced elements, objects and textures into the project and ensure
  • standards are met.

Skills Required

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of modeling techniques to create graphic assets expected on the project
  • Good knowledge of body mechanics and anatomy
  • An eye for graphics and love of details;
  • Good knowledge of level editors
  • Scripting experience with MaxScript, MelScript, Python, C#, C++ or others.
  • Experience with standard industry tools like Motion Builder.
  • Good knowledge of the video game industry and awareness of typical video game development processes
  • Ability to accept feedback and adapt to change
  • Sense of initiative
  • Originality and resourcefulness in problem solving.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on current trends in visual communication
  • Good knowledge of gameplay and level design.
  • Extensive knowledge of optimisation techniques (e.g. 3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush, substance painter, cinema 4D)
  • Extensive knowledge of standard industry game engines, design toolsets and production pipelines (Scaleform, Unity and/or Unreal) is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of 3D-related mathematics
  • Proven skills in rigging, animation, lighting or FX
  • Know the psychology of colors.
  • Ability to work with artists, animators and developers to execute projects on time.
  • Passionate about learning new software tools and a quality of being a good researcher.
  • Good knowledge of character designing etc.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BCA, BS – CS, IT, Software Engineering or any other art related 4 years certification.
  • 5-6 years of experience.
